I am a CG Supervisor and FX lead with over 18 years of experience, most recently at MPC London. While my area of expertise is FX/Simulation heavy shows, I also have a wide knowledge of all other aspects of the vfx process from pre-production to Grade.
I have hands on skills and supervising experience in Design, Match-move, Look Development, Lighting, FX Simulations and Nuke Compositing.
Over the years I have lead various projects across Films, TV and commercials while collaborating with leads and supervisors across time-zones solving creative and pipeline challenges. This has ranged from delivering over 150 shots for Conan The Barbarian in stereo to creating a full CG wave frozen in time across a 40 sec commercial.
My insatiable curiosity and love for problem solving has helped me work on many award winning projects such as John Lewis Buster the Boxer ( VES nominee), VW Born Confident, Hennessy Seven Worlds etc.
I have experience creating complex procedural setups in Houdini which can be used by a team of artists during shot production. I have also scripted various python tools to help with pipeline tasks over the years i.e automating shot production across a sequence from asset cache updates to simulation and render using python scripts.
In the future I look forward to building on my technical and developer skills I sharpened up during my Msc from Bournemouth University, while working towards delivering the final Pixel on screen, in budget and schedule while keeping to the highest standards possible.
I am currently intrigued by real-time rendering and Machine Learning, especially in terms of how it can impact the traditional VFX workflow.
